Excite Your Tastebuds with a Wide Variety of Multi-Cultural and Classic Cuisine at Ala Moana Center

Ala Moana Center is home to more than 100 dining options that cover the spectrum from upscale dining to cool cocktails; from Japanese style teppanyaki to the classic American hamburger with the works – and everything in between.

With so many choices, it’s easy to see why Ala Moana Center is Honolulu’s premier dining destination. Whether shoppers are looking for a quick bite to eat or a romantic dinner for two, they can decide from the following options:

For an upscale dining experience with a fantastic view overlooking Ala Moana Beach, visit Mariposa Restaurant (Neiman Marcus). Offering everything from creative sandwiches to regionally inspired entrées and house-made desserts, you can take in a legendary Hawaiian sunset from your table on the open-air lānai while enjoying outstanding service. Head to Vintage Cave Honolulu (below Macy’s) for exceptional food made with the best ingredients from around the world at the hands of Chef Misao Masuda. Ruscello (Nordstrom) offers a bold menu inspired by Mediterranean and Italian cuisine while Habitant (Nordstrom), a casual lounge and full bar, provides the perfect atmosphere to take a break from shopping and enjoy a light snack, glass of wine or even a handcrafted cocktail. Stylish shoppers seeking authentic Japanese fare will enjoy Rokkaku Hamakatsu’s modernized Kyoto teahouse cuisine. Chef Hiroshi Shimada serves up dramatically presented dishes such as house specialty kamameshi, a rice dish cooked in a ceramic pot until it has a golden crust. Widely known for its world famous frozen yogurt, Forty Carrots (Bloomingdale’s) features a healthy menu infused with local ingredients and products under the direction of Chef Jon Matsubara. Forty Carrots has been serving its world famous frozen yogurt to generations of Bloomingdale’s shoppers for over three decades.

Named after the Hawaiian word for “hospitality,” Ho‘okipa Terrace is O‘ahu’s liveliest gathering place and home to Hawai‘i’s favorite restaurants and bars offering food and fun for all tastes. Relax and enjoy live, local music, celebrate a special occasion or dance the night away. Highlights include, Mai Tai Bar, a longtime local favorite for casual after-work drinks, live music and late-night parties, as well as GEN Korean BBQ House, one of Ho‘okipa Terrace’s newest additions which features traditional Korean BBQ with a twist of contemporary flavors. Tanaka of Tokyo features master teppanyaki chefs preparing vegetables, certified black angus sirloin, imported lobster tails, shrimp, scallops, and more on tabletop grills.

For a quick bite to eat, head to the Makai Market Food Court, Lanai @ Ala Moana Center, or any one of the Center’s many casual dining vendors for everything from sandwiches, salads and sushi to Thai or Chinese takeout.

Curry House CoCo Ichibanya is a local favorite, where diners can choose from mild to spicy curry and more than 25 toppings. Other local favorites like Ahi & Vegetable features high-quality tuna chosen daily from Honolulu’s fish auction, while Mahaloha Burger’s locally inspired menu features 100 percent free-range beef straight from Hawaii Island. Well-known national chains like Charley’s Grilled Subs, Panda Express and Sbarro offer familiar favorites, while many only-in-Hawai‘i merchants such as Ala Moana Poi Bowl, GRYLT, Lahaina Chicken, Poke & Box and Yummy Korean BBQ offer a wide variety of lesser-known local treats.

The Shirokiya Japan Village Walk offers customers a unique experience showcasing a traditional Japanese town reminiscent of old Kyoto. Highlighting traditional Japanese culture, the Shirokiya Japan Village Walk consists of four main themes: Yataimura (quality food court and beer garden), Nippon Komachi (shopping alleys), Omatsuri Hiroba (festival and event square) and Guardian Spirits Sanctuary (good luck gods). Featuring 56 shops and 900 seats, the Shirokiya Japan Village Walk includes a beer garden with five service stations serving $1 beer, six boutique restaurants featuring fine cuisine, eight select bistros, 32 food kiosks with bento, onigiri and ramen options, and a bakery and sweets corner operated by Vintage Cave Honolulu (below Macy’s).
