There is a new verb to celebrate consumer passion for accessories. “Obsessorize” is a week-long celebration of art & style that brings to life the intersection of art and shopping via a 3D experience in stores and on the sidewalk on Madison Avenue between 57th and 86th Streets.
Free and open to the public, the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District, the School for Visual Arts and Marie Claire formed an alliance to bring art & style to those “obsessed” with accessories. 37 of the following retailers will spotlight the latest trends and products: Agnes B, Alexis Bittar, alice + olivia, Aquatalia, Barbour, Barton Perreira, Christofle, David Webb, David Yurman, De Beers, Devi Kroell, Dolce & Gabbana, Dyptyque, Emilio Pucci, Etro, Editions De Parfums Frederic Malle, Frette, Guiseppe Zanotti, Goutal, Hueb, Ippolita, Isabel Marant, J. Crew Collection, J.J. Marco, Jaded, Lanvin, Longchamp, Lukure, Max Mara, Michael’s Luxur Consignment, Morgenthal Frederics, Paul Morelli, Roger Vivier, Schutz, Sonia Rykiel, Stuart Weitzman, Vilebrequin and Zadig & Voltaire.
The School of Visual Arts “Obsessorize” Public Art Exhibition on Madison Avenue, inspired by head-to-toe accessories, will showcase insta-worthy student-designed pieces with twenty-eight 8’ high plexiglass enclosed sculptures taking inspiration from past decades of iconic accessories. Shoppers are invited to “obsessorize” over accessories during in-store receptions, visual displays, stylist’s advice and a look at the latest trends and collections.
The festivities kick off with an opening night shopping event on October 4 at 625 Madison Avenue and the unveiling of the SVA public art installation, followed by a progression to 40 in-store receptions showcasing the most on-trend and artistic accessories for fall 2018.
Madison Avenue retailers will welcome Fall Golden Week shoppers with in-store Mandarin translators, special VIP incentives, the convenience of WeChat Pay and Ali Pay, posting by international bloggers and a partnership with Jeenie™ – a mobile app that connects the staff to live language translators for a real-time conversation with customers.
