June 18, 2018 Dress Like a Princess on Madison Avenue
It appears as if the new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, could have shopped on Madison Avenue for her wedding look!
Although we can’t all be Meghan Markle and marry a prince, shoppers can find the styles that the new Duchess wore on her wedding day in the brands’ flagship boutiques on Madison Avenue. 750 million eyes took in Meghan Markle’s head-to-toe look. Givenchy, Cartier, Stella McCartney, Aquazzura, and Ross & Russo, are five of the brands that Meghan Markle wore on her wedding day and in her engagement photos that can all be found on Madison Avenue.
Madison Avenue is also home to the world’s premier bridal brands. Stores located within the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) between East 57th Streets to East 86th Streets offer bridal, jewelry, accessory, and floral boutiques fit for any princess or bride. Amsale, Elie Saab, Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang are the four bridal boutiques located on Madison Avenue. L’Olivier Floral Atelier and Ovando are two floral shops that can create floral arrangements fit for a royal wedding. With over 65 jewelry stores, Madison Avenue has gems fit for a princess.
The new Duchess, Meghan Markle, stunned in a Haute Couture Givenchy off-the-shoulder gown for her wedding ceremony. Designed by Givenchy artistic director, Clare Waight Keller, the Duchess and the designer worked closely to design the classic silk gown. Although the new Duchess’ dress and veil are one-of-a-kind, similar designs with the same elegance can be found at the Givenchy store located at 747 Madison Avenue.
Markle truly did look like a princess in her diamond earrings and bracelet for her big day. She wore a pair of Galanterie de Cartier collection white gold and diamond studs and a single Reflection de Cartier diamond bracelet for the ceremony. Although we can’t all be real princesses, Cartier can help shoppers’ look and feel like princesses’ at the Madison Avenue flagship store at 828 Madison Avenue. At the reception, the Duchess accessorized with a pair of white gold Cartier chandelier earrings.
The new Duchess’ wedding look did not stop there. Markle changed into a second dress for the small reception hosted by Prince Charles. Her second dress was designed by Stella McCartney. The designer’s flagship boutique is located at 929 Madison Avenue. Like the new Duchess’ ceremony dress, her jaw-dropping reception dress is another one-of-a-kind design. However, similar styles that exude the same elegance and modernity can be found at the Stella McCartney store.
Markle paired her second dress with custom satin Aquazzura pumps complete with blue soles, perfect for that “something blue.” The new Duchess has been a longtime fan of Aquazzura shoes. Many of Markle’s most worn styles can be found at the Aquazzura store at 939 Madison Avenue.
When Markle first came on the scene as the future bride to Prince Harry, she had already been dressing like a princess. Our first real look at her into the royal fashion world was during the engagement photoshoot. Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex, choose a floor-length Ross & Russo beaded gown. Ross & Russo announced that they will be opening a flagship store at 680 Madison Avenue in October 2018.
